Getting Started for Students 🎓
Welcome to tutorkamun! This guide will walk you through everything you need to know to get started, join live sessions, collaborate on the whiteboard, and complete your tasks.
Account Setup & Onboarding
Joining via Invitation
- Open your email invitation from tutorkamun.
- Click the invitation link to go directly to account setup.
- Set your password and complete your profile name.
- Verify your email by clicking the link sent to your inbox.
- Log in to access your student dashboard!
Direct Student Registration
- Visit app.tutorkamun.com and click Sign Up.
- Select Student as your role.
- Enter your email address and a secure password.
- Complete your profile details.
- Verify your email address to activate your account.
Understanding Your Dashboard
Your dashboard is your central hub for learning on tutorkamun:

| Task Stats | See outstanding tasks, completed work, and your average score (0–100%) |
| Upcoming Sessions | View your next scheduled tutoring sessions with join countdowns |
| Session Credits | Check your available session credits allocated by your parent or tutor |
| Recent Activity | Latest graded tasks, tutor feedback, and unread messages |
Joining Live Video Sessions
When session time arrives, joining your live classroom is seamless and secure.
How to Join a Session
- Log in to your Dashboard or navigate to Calendar.
- Locate your active session and click Join Session (available when your tutor starts the session).
- Audio Setup Check: Choose to complete an audio test (Join with Audio Check) or proceed directly (Skip Check).
- Grant Browser Permissions: Allow camera and microphone access when prompted by your browser.
- You're in! You will immediately see your tutor's video feed and the shared interactive whiteboard.
Live Session Tools & Controls
During live video sessions, you have access to interactive classroom controls:
- Mic & Camera Toggle: Mute or unmute your microphone or turn your camera feed on or off.
- Background Blur: Click the Blur button to blur your camera background for privacy.
- Connection Indicator: View real-time connection quality. If your connection drops briefly, the system will automatically attempt to reconnect without interrupting your session.
- In-Session Chat: Send text messages or web links to your tutor during the lesson.
Using the Interactive Whiteboard
Every live session features an integrated, real-time collaborative whiteboard for visual learning.
Whiteboard Capabilities
- Real-Time Collaboration: See your tutor's drawings, notes, and equations instantly as they write.
- Drawing & Shapes: Use pens, highlighters, rectangles, circles, arrows, and lines to work through problems together.
- Text Tools: Type notes and answers directly on the board.
- Visual Lesson Templates: View interactive diagrams, charts, and visual lesson plans prepared by your tutor.
Completing Assigned Tasks
Tutors assign tasks (homework and practice exercises) to reinforce learning between sessions.
Viewing & Submitting Tasks
- Click Tasks in the sidebar navigation.
- Filter between Outstanding (due) and Completed tasks.
- Click a task card to view full instructions, reference materials, or attached study guides.
- Complete your work as instructed and click Mark as Complete.
- Your tutor will review your submission and assign a score with feedback.
Understanding Your Scores
When your tutor reviews a task, you will receive a grade out of 100%:
| Score Range | Indicator | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
| 90 – 100% | 🟢 Green | Excellent work |
| 70 – 89% | 🟡 Yellow | Good work with minor areas to review |
| 50 – 69% | 🟠 Orange | Satisfactory; review tutor feedback carefully |
| Below 50% | 🔴 Red | Needs improvement; review concepts with your tutor |
Accessing Session Notes & Summaries
After every live session, your tutor shares detailed session notes and key takeaways:
- Go to Sessions and select a past session from your history.
- Click View Session Notes to review key concepts covered, formulas, and recommended practice areas.
Communicating with Your Tutor
Stay in touch with your tutor between sessions:
- Go to Messages to send direct text messages to your tutor.
- Ask questions about assigned tasks or request session schedule changes.
