tutorkamun provides a rich, secure messaging system that keeps students, parents, and tutors connected for academic collaboration, file sharing, schedule coordination, and real-time notifications.
Communication Architecture
Messaging on tutorkamun is privacy-first and role-scoped:
- Students can message their active tutors.
- Parents can message tutors teaching their linked children.
- Tutors can message connected students and their parents.
Users can only initiate conversations with individuals to whom they are connected through active sessions or roster links, ensuring a safe learning environment.

1. Conversation Hub
- Active Threads: View all active conversations sorted by most recent activity.
- File & Image Attachments: Attach documents, worksheets, images, and PDF study guides directly inside chat messages.
- Read Receipts: View read receipts to see when your messages have been delivered and read.
- Unread Badges: Real-time unread message counts displayed on your navigation bar.
2. Push & System Notifications
tutorkamun dispatches real-time push and system notifications for key events:
- 📱 Push Notifications: Receive instant browser and mobile push alerts for new messages, live session starts, and urgent updates.
- 📅 Session Alerts: Instant notifications when a session is scheduled or rescheduled.
- 💳 Credit Alerts: Reminders when parent session credit balances are low.
