Account Connection Architecture
tutorkamun connects three user roles through secure platform accounts:
👨👩👧 Parent Account
- Parent-Child Link: Connects to one or more child student profiles for progress tracking and credit allocation.
- Parent-Tutor Link: Connects to assigned tutors for session approvals and direct messaging.
🎓 Student Profile
- Student-Tutor Link: Connects to the tutor's active roster for live classes and homework assignments.
- Connected to Parent account for credit management.
👨🏫 Tutor Roster
- Student Roster: Contains active student profiles for scheduling and task reviews.
- Parent Contact: Direct connection to linked parents for updates.
- Student-Tutor Connection: Links a student profile directly to an educator's roster for scheduling and task assignment.
- Parent-Child Connection: Links a parent guardian account to one or more children for progress monitoring and billing management.
- Parent-Tutor Connection: Connects parents directly to tutors for messaging, updates, and session approvals.
Inviting & Adding Students (Tutor Workflow)
1. Email Invitations
- Go to Students -> Invite Student.
- Enter the student's email address and assign an optional subject tag.
- Click Send Invitation.
- An email invitation link is sent to the student.
Invitation Statuses
- Pending: Invitation sent; awaiting student or parent registration.
- Accepted: Account created and connected to your roster.
- Expired: Unaccepted invitation after 7 days; click Resend to renew.
2. Connecting Existing Students
If a student or parent is already registered on tutorkamun, tutors or parents can connect accounts instantly using the Connect Existing Account option.
Student Roster Management
The Tutor Roster view provides an interactive table of all connected learners:

Engagement & Activity Tracking
tutorkamun tracks key engagement metrics to help tutors spot struggling or inactive students early:
- Attendance Rate: Percentage of scheduled sessions attended vs. missed.
- Task Completion Speed: Average time taken between task assignment and completion.
- Inactivity Alerts: Tutors receive an alert if a student has not logged in for 14 or more days, prompting a check-in message.
Archiving & Restoring Students
When a student finishes a course or takes a break, tutors can clean their active roster without losing historical data:
Archiving Process
- Navigate to the student's profile card and click Archive Student.
- Confirm archiving.
What Archiving Achieves
- Removes the student from the primary active roster view.
- Preserves all data: Past session history, whiteboard notes, task submissions, and grades remain stored permanently.
- The student can log in independently or remain active with other tutors.
Restoring a Student
Filter the roster view by Archived, locate the student, and click Restore Student to return them to your active teaching list.
